You're Grounded: Crystals and Rituals for Grounding

Grounding is something some people know how to do by nature and is something others need major help with. As someone who lives in a huge city, I'd spent years going to Reiki circles, doing intense Kundalini breathwork, and buying up slabs of Selenite like they were closing the last mine in Mexico (that's a crystal joke, right there)! I was shooting myself further into the atmosphere without making sure my feet were firmly planted on the ground. Walking around in your own world on cloud nine can feel really good. But being ungrounded takes it's toll - I found it harder to come back to earth and connect with others, to feel rooted in my body and to feel like I could build a routine that made me happy, healthy and productive. If grounding doesn't come naturally for you then some adding some ritual to your routine will be helpful.

Grounding Crystals

Black Tourmaline is the number on for grounding. Hold it in your hand as you meditate, sleep with it by your bed, place it on your body in the lower three chakras (the root chakra specifically) to feel calm and rooted in your purpose and your body. Other great ones are Smoky Quartz and Hematite. Smoky Quartz is a great one to wear everyday as a necklace or bracelet with Black Tourmaline being the big gun here (it can put you right to sleep)! Click on any of the above to buy.

Body Scanning Meditation

Body scanning is a great method of meditation that specifically brings you in tune with your body. Often, you begin by placing your awareness on your feet and slowly moving your attention up your body, noting how you feel physically. Once you reach the top of the head, you bring your awareness back down to your feet, grounding yourself in the present moment. Apps like Inscape and Insight Timer offer a variety of guided meditations with plenty that focus specifically on the method of body scanning.

Breathwork

In almost every type of meditation, breathwork is a key factor - and it's free and accessible to every human being on earth! The previously mentioned apps have various guided breathwork meditations. Inhaling for six seconds slowly and evenly and exhaling for six seconds for an extended amount of time has been proven to reduce anxiety. Perfect for getting you in the moment and especially effective for anxiety sufferers. There are many other ways to harness to breath to immediately enter certain emotional states, but long and deep breathing is number one for grounding.

Grounding Kundalini Kriyas

While many Kundalini kriyas can make you feel like you're floating off into space due to the amazingly powerful breathwork aspects, there are root chakra-focused and grounding exercises that can root you in your body and the present moment. Another word on breathwork - Kundalini kriyas all feature powerful breathwork exercises. You can find links to several different Kundalini kriyas below.

It Takes Two: Powerful Crystal Duos for Even Higher Vibes

Crystals like many things are even better in pairs! Perfect for creating powerful grids, balancing energy in a space or meditating with. And hey, they just look good together too.

Rose Quartz & Black Tourmaline

Rose quartz is a beautiful stone that is said to bring in the vibration of love - black tourmaline is a powerful grounding and protecting stone that can help you move through negative energy. Working with them in tandem is therefore a no brainer to really integrate that self love and love energy into your life and body. Keep a small polished stone in each jacket or pants pocket to help you in moments of fear or self doubt when you could use a little self love and grounding - just remember your love and protection you've got in that pocket!

Aquamarine & Pink Danburite

Two of the most gentle, peaceful energies - quite a blissed out and calming combo! Aquamarine is calming and tranquil (it's named after the ocean for a reason) and has a super subtle calming and reassuring energy. Pink danburite is similarly calming and reassuring and is known for emotional healing and self love. I keep these in the bathroom to start the day from a calm and loving place, making sure that morning routine is full of self love and support.

Tiger's Eye & Labradorite

Inspiration, intuition, spirituality - these two are super powerful on their own but even more out there when used together. This is not a grounding combo - this is for when you're ready for liftoff, to explore new ideas and bring in substantive change. Labradorite helps you get in touch with your spiritual nature - perfect for creating new goals more aligned with your true self. Tiger's Eye meanwhile, helps you find new paths and solutions around longtime blocks. Change-makers!

Selenite & Black Tourmaline

Yes, Black Tourmaline is back (it's a big one). This is the perfect combination for the home - if you're just moving in, or want to clear the space you've lived in for years. Selenite (or "liquid light" as it's often called) is uplifting and clearing. It'll help things feel light - you know when you walk in a room and it feels dense with tension or negative energy? This guy cuts through all of that. Black tourmaline will help to ground that energy so we don't get too airy - crystal duos are all about bringing in balance of the two energies. Put one of each above the entry way to your home or get decorative pieces to put in the living room.

Carnelian & Citrine

Getting uplifted, confident in you're power and ready to manifest big opportunities and changes - that's what these two together makes me think of. Carnelian, a variety of chalcedony, is a real "get up and go" crystal - it'll stoke your inner fire to achieve and re-ignite your confidence. Citrine is the stone of positivity will help you reconnect to your creativity and sexuality (and overall "sparkly"-ness and positivity). No brainer combo. Put these stones on your desk, by your easel, in your workout area - wherever you are feeling uninspired and need to re-ignite your confidence and creativity.

Have a Crystal Clear New Year: The Best Crystals for Setting New Years Intentions

Whatever you're comfortable calling it, we all do it to some extent: goal setting, manifesting, intention setting. We all have goals and want to help keep ourselves on track while achieving them. But life gets busy, our goals change or we lose touch with what it was we truly wanted when we created those pesky New Year's resolutions. And there's no shame in that game - but there are plenty of ways to help ourselves stay focused. And crystals, like journaling and a day planner, can be part of our toolkit.

How can an inanimate object help you clarify your intentions, keep you focused and keep you on track? There are a few ways!

  • Buy a crystal that catches your eye and corresponds to something you need help with (more on that below).
  • Give your crystal an "intention" and place it somewhere relevant. Every time you see that crystal you'll be reminded of the goal. Example: I keep a Tiger's Eye on my desk to remind myself not to make business decisions out of fear and only to say yes to the opportunities that feel right. If I am unsure about whether something is right I can look to my Tiger's Eye and remind myself to take a moment and listen to my intuition.
  • Meditate on your goal every day while holding the crystal you've chosen. When you start to get lost come back to the grounding feeling of that crystal in your hand.

Disclaimer: Of course, nobody needs any tools to achieve anything other than their own ingenuity and talents - these tools are just icing on the cake. I know everyone's process is different, but having additional "spiritual accessories" can make the process fun and less intimidating if you've been avoiding facing a goal head on or have tried and fallen off the path several times before.

Getting Inspired:

Carnelian, Labradorite, Amethyst and Tiger's Eye. Stones like Carnelian and Tiger's Eye help you get in touch with your drive and ambition while awakening creativity - perfect for gathering the courage to decide to make a change whether large or small. Far-out stones like Labradorite and Amethyst help you get in touch with your true path and can reveal what truly inspires you - perfect for the person who isn't quite in touch with their deepest goals yet.

Getting Honest About What You Want:

Clear Quartz, Aquamarine, Chrysocolla, Amazonite. Stones like Aquamarine and Chrysocolla promote finding solutions to problems while Quartz and Amazonite help boost mental clarity. Perfect for doing the inner work that's involved with goal setting and manifesting. What is it that you truly want and why? What blocks stand in your way and what solutions are right under your nose?

Staying Focused:

Malachite, Green Moss Agate, Orange Calcite, Red Jasper. These confidence-giving and energizing stones will keep you focused and on your path. They're inspiring but stabilizing, perfect for continuing forward with renewed resolve. Turn to these stones in a moment of insecurity or when you second guess your decisions.

Self Love for the Stumbles:

Pink Danburite, Rose Quartz, Scolecite, Rhodocrosite. These heart chakra-focused crystals can help you remember self love and forgiveness when you fall off track and give you the confidence to get back on the horse. There's no shame in starting over! Note: these stones are good for relationship and love-centric goals (more on the best crystals for specific goals in the next post)!

Spirit Event: MNDFL's "Holiday Lovingkindness" Workshop with Sharon Salzberg

I attended Sharon Salzberg's workshop on Lovingkindness during the Holidays at MNDFL's neat, stylish but small space in Greenwich Village, NYC. I wasn't feeling super connected to the theme of the talk but I'd wanted to see Sharon speak for some time and jumped at the opportunity. She later playfully revealed that the prompt for the evening was given to her by MNDFL co-founder and author Lodro Rinzler and that she would do her best to adhere to the topic. She said what immediately came to mind was accepting differing opinions and loving people from afar when you need to, or taking time for yourself despite the pressure to be the super-host constantly surrounded by family.

She opened the workshop with a meditation, walking everyone through the process. First, she had us tune in with our bodies, listen to the sounds in the room and then focus on the breath on a spot of our choosing within the body. 8 minutes flew by in silence and when we all opened our eyes she said, "it's different now, right? I always notice the difference in the room."

Lovingkindness meditation, which Sharon is probably the most well-known teacher of, focuses on developing feelings of goodwill and love towards others as a way of finding inner peace for yourself. During her retreats, she teaches people to offer love in their practice over long periods of time to someone they love, then to a neutral person they have no feelings toward (like the checkout person at the local grocery store) and finally to someone they have trouble with.

She has an amazingly practical and dry approach to speaking, and took care with slow, unhurried stories that more often than not ended with a wry joke or anecdote. Longtime and native New Yorkers will relate to her deeply as she is a quintessential New Yorker though she now lives near the retreat center she founded, Insight Meditation Society in Massachusetts.

At the workshop she mentioned that if you have the urge to give something away, do it - unless it's going to be harmful to you and your family. "My example is that you should never give away your rent controlled apartment - that example doesn't work everywhere," she said to room-wide understanding, laughter and silent nods.

She told a lot of stories and anecdotes she's heard from friends, students and famous colleagues ("My friend Ram Das..." is something that was casually said without pretense). Someone told her when she was growing up that people get the concepts of 'Love' and 'Like' mixed up - that we think we can only love a chosen few and can like many people, but it's actually reversed. We can treat everyone with love in our heart, but it doesn't mean we have to like them. We can like our chosen few friends, partners and family members (hopefully) and not be a bad or isolated person.

We ended the hour and a half session with a (mostly-silent) Q and A period and another, shorter meditation during which we were told to inject some lovingkindness for ourselves every time we found ourselves off track and needing to go back to our breath.

Sharon is an amazing teacher for meditation and Lovingkindness rookies and is always traveling across the country but is most often found at her retreat center and on the east coast. Find her at her website or read one of her many, highly accessible books. Rookie tip: start with Real Happiness, which comes with guided meditation recordings and lays out clear steps for a 28 day practice.

Spirit Guide: Kundalini Yoga

Spirit Guide is a series that breaks down spiritual practices, wellness trends and more. There's a lot out there - what is right for you? This week, it's every LA-resident's and Insta star's new favorite yoga style - Kundalini!

chakrascrystalrookiekundalini.jpg

What It Is:

Kundalini is a spiritual practice brought to the west in the 1970s by Yogi Bhajan - it's basis is Shaktism and Tantra forms of Hinduism with a little 70's new age thrown in for fun. The primary way to practice is through a yoga that is heavily based in breath work, mantra and mudras (hand placements), but still retains a lot of the same poses from the yoga classes you've probably tried before. It is practiced to not only work out and increase flexibility, but to balance the hormones, endocrine system and to ultimately raise your consciousness. A lot of people report having visions and feeling energy move within the body - the word Kundalini itself refers to the concept off primal energy that is located at the base of the spine. This practice is about moving energy and raising that vibration!

Why It Might be Right For You:

You're someone who wants a more spiritual way of working out or practicing yoga. Kundalini is rooted in some very old spiritual practices, featuring moves from the kriyas of the yoga sutras. It's not for anyone afraid of chanting mantra, practicing breath work and meditation (often all at once)! But also, most people are scared of all those things at first. It's perfect for someone who's mind tends to wander during yoga. You'll be too busy breathing in a certain way and repeating a mantra while doing familiar poses like 'cat cow' and pigeon for your mind to wander - plus, you may even have a spiritual vision (you'll at least stop stressing for an hour).

You’re In? Great! Here’s Your Rookie Toolkit:

The Uniform:

We'll start with the most unusual aspect of Kundalini to newbies. You may see teachers and longtime students wearing all white. You may also see them wearing headscarves, turbans or beanies also in - you guessed it - white. There is a lot of energy-moving breathwork involved in Kundalini which can leave a Rookie with a pounding headache if someone isn't used to it or doesn't follow directions perfectly. The head covering is said to protect your head and hold in it's energy providing a grounding effect - which can be helpful when you're doing intense breathwork. Kundalini founder Yogi Bhajan encouraged wearing white because it encourages balance, lightness and openness and color is well-known for its ability to affect our mood, perspective and subconscious. Think of wearing all white as the opposite of a citygoer's all-black protective armor.

Spirit Stars:

The aforementioned Guru Jagat runs the highly popular Ra Ma Institute which has locations in Los Angeles, New York and Mallorca, Spain. She's an amazingly modern and practical face to a spiritual practice that gets the 'it's for old men with a beards only' rap. Not one on of the coasts - or in Spain? Ra Ma TV makes classes available for everybody and even livestreams some of her retreats and workshops which can be purchased for a fee.

The Elevate the Globe girls are the beachy, sunny Cali-girls you've always wanted to be like and show you how to get that laid back vibe through committing to the practice of Kundalini - but they also keep it real and show that it takes practice and work. They both really walk the walk in the midst of busy lives and are always on their Instastories sharing their quick, easy to fit in morning practices, meditations on the go and early-morning Sadhanas (often with Britt's little girl in tow).

Another notable Kundalini leader is Tej Khaur Khalsa, owner of the Nine Treasures studio in LA. She's been seen with celebrities like Russell Brand and was a longtime student of the late Yogi Bhajan.

Guru Jagat

The Ra Ma Institute

The Kundalini Yogi Diet:

Quick fun fact: The Yogi Tea brand is named after the tea Yogi Bhajan would serve at his workshops - each box has a nugget of Kundalini breathwork or yoga inspiration on the side!

Kundalini doesn't involve a specific diet per se, but many practitioners and leaders are proponents of Ayurvedic practices and eating according to your dosha. More on that later, but there are three doshas or physical constitutions: Kapha, Pitta and Vata.

The new hot beverage trend (because that is definitely a thing) is Golden Milk, often found on menus as Turmeric Lattes. Made with turmeric, the drink often is made with almond milk, coconut oil, black pepper and cinnamon - it's easy to make on the stove and is a great way to start the morning, especially if you're trying to cut down on coffee (I melt in a teaspoon of Ayurveda-friendly Ghee butter).

Crystal Tools for Upping Your Beauty Routine

Here's the rundown on crystal tools you can easily incorporate into your beauty routine for applying beauty products, giving yourself massages and more. Because crystals are gorgeous but they can help you look and feel gorge too.

Facial Rollers

These ancient beauty tools are usually made with Jade and are known to reduce puffiness, relieve facial tension and stimulate the blood flow all while draining the lymphatic system. Most Jade rollers have two different sized rollers - use the smaller on under-eye bags. There are different facial massages you can do, but focus on rolling across the forehead, across the cheekbones then along the jawline with upward strokes moving from the middle of the face. The best way to use these every day is to apply serum and use the roller to really work the product into the skin. You can find plenty of affordable Jade rollers online in addition to beautifully packaged ones from new brands like Mount Lai (pictured). We also love rose quartz rollers as well - it just depends on your preference!

Gua Sha

Another ancient beauty tool that stimulate blood flow, releases facial tension and de-puffs underage bags. Often they're used in massage to scrape the dead skin cells away and improve circulation (often to pretty painful-looking results: Google with caution) and adherents swear it's much less painful than deep tissue massage. But they also make a great tool for a much more gentle stimulating facial massage. Celebrity natural skincare goddess Georgia Louise is famed for using a rose quartz "butterfly stone" to lift and sculpt during her facial appointments and sells one online in a butterfly shape - for $75 freakin' dollars.

Don't want to make room in your budget for a $75 Goop-approved facial massage stone? We totally understand. Here's an affordable set of five rose quartz massage tools, that includes a Gua Sha for face and other tools meant for body, hand and foot pressure point massage. You can also find a really affordable rose quartz beauty or this classic jade gua sha for under ten bucks.

Crystal Facial Grids

Getting centered and meditating is the best beauty tip of all! Might as well throw some crystals on your face during the process. Perfect for during a bath or after giving yourself a facial, the cooling crystals will relieve facial tension and some crystals are said to have anti-aging properties. See the above picture from Crystal Rookie-approved book Crystal Muse for ideas on crystal placement. Grab the below crystals for your next crystal grid:

Aquamarine - anti-aging properties

Rose Quartz - the classic self love stone

Fluorite - anti-stress and anxiety (AKA removes facial tension/stank face)

Quartz - for clear skin

Shungite - detoxifies the skin

Crystal Books That Belong in Every Crystal Rookie's Toolkit

There aren't a whole lot of books about crystals but the ones that are available are pretty great. For crystal rookies the easiest way to incorporate crystals into your life is to just start working with them - but for people like me who fixate doing things right or sometimes need some guidance, these books provide an amazing roadmap to starting your crystal journey.

Crystal Muse: Everyday Rituals to Tune In to the Real You by Heather Askinosie and Timmi Jandro

Written by veteran crystal purveyors and jewelry designers over at Energy Muse, this book compiles their decades of experience working with crystals. The book features a wide variety of crystal rituals with a focus on manifesting specific outcomes (rituals to bring in love, wealth and pregnancy to name just a few). There really are many, many rituals in here though some of them require a lot of crystals that the average user won't have. If this feels a little too out there, the book contains a narrative thread throughout that tells the story of how they started their business, roadblocks they met along the way and how crystals have helped them to stay grounded amid life's many twists and turns. This story will be riveting for anyone who dreams of running a spiritual business or a small business in general.

Elemental Energy: Crystal and Gemstone Rituals for a Beautiful Life By Kristin Petrovich

For anyone turned off by the crunchy, woo-woo vibes of most crystal books and websites, this is the stylish, gorgeous book for you. Written by the creator of Crystal Rookie-approved skincare line Sjal, the book is filled with info on building an affordable crystal collection in addition to easy to replicate crystal rituals that are decidedly modern and practical. Many of the rituals are focused on incorporating crystals into beauty skin-care through gemstone massage, crystal elixirs and using crystals for restoration and relaxation. This book doubles as the perfect coffee table ornament or gift for your high vibe but fashion forward friends - it's an amateur photo stylist's dream.

The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall

An oldie but a goodie, this book was literally the 'Bible' for several decades before other books hit the market as crystals became more mainstream. It's an amazing A to Z guide with information on (almost) every crystal out there. Treat this one as a reference, no need to read it cover to cover unless you want to increase your knowledge of all stones. Just flip through the encyclopedic Index to find the info you need when you find yourself questions which crystals bring in abundance or where Carnelian is found in the world. There are also brief sections on crystal grids and crystal elixirs. Great to bring to the crystal store or (especially) when shopping online. There are several editions of this book that have been updated with newly discovered crystals and the author and crystal fairy godmother Judy Hall has many other books including one about creating crystal grids and about crystal healing

Crystallized: Top Crystal-Infused Natural Skincare Products

An important but oft-overlooked aspect of a spiritual practice is self care. These are key products from my favorite natural skincare lines that are not only inspired by crystals or filtered through crystals - these products are actually made with crystals themselves! Luxurious, safe AND high vibrational, just how we like it.

Shiva Rose Blue Crystal Eye Cream

Eye cream is the one product most worth splurging on. This ultra-luxe rich cream combines the powerful azulene of blue tansy with hydrating and plumping properties of hyaluronic acid, healing calendula, anti-aging evening primrose and soothing aloe. Additional ingredients include blue chamomile, rooibos, lavender and pomegranate. And that's not all. According to the skincare goddess herself, "sacred sandalwood creates new cells, diminishing lines and opening the third eye." It's activated by Azurite crystals, deep blue beauties that will assist you in opening that aforementioned third eye. Or at least help decrease crow's feet.

Sjal Rose Aura Cleansing Set

Sets are an easy way to totally overhaul your skincare routine! Created by the author of upscale crystal bible Elemental Energy, this entire line is deeply influenced by crystals and their beautifying properties. This luxurious three-part cleansing ritual is infused with powerful bio-actives to detoxify and tone while locking in moisture. There are two versions of the set available; one comes with a rose quartz stone. A deep pore cleanser gently softens and exfoliates the skin while eliminating blackheads, dirt and excess oil. Soak the sponge in warm water and apply the cleanser directly to it, massage the sponge gently until it is soft (make sure to soak that sponge - otherwise you're in for a painful crystal-infused ritual). After cleansing, apply the energy tonic toner. Created by the author of upscale crystal bible Elemental Energy, this entire line is deeply influenced by crystals and their beautifying properties.

The mask features their trademarked Gemceuticals®, formulated with Malachite crystals. This organic mask and natural skin treatment has anti-oxidant properties, perfect for someone who gets a lot of sun exposure or wants a product that covers a lot of bases.

This über-hip line is chock full of crystal inspired products (the luxurious Lapis Facial Oil, the Citrine body oil) but the Brighten Pineapple Enzyme + Gemstone mask is actually made with tiny micronized Brazilian tourmaline gemstone shards for exfoliation and illumination.

Crystals 101: Top Crystals For Beginners and How to Use Them

Consider this your (digital) crystal starter pack - these are the top crystals that anyone should have in their collection. As somebody who owns way too many crystals to count, these are the five that stand out and are the easiest to work with as a beginner (AKA the force is strong as Yoda would say).

Crystals are used in everything from watches to satellites and more is being discovered about their utility every day. Almost every culture throughout history has used crystals in some way (hello Jade rollers), so you'll have a rich history of rituals to tap into when using your crystals. But that's a whole other story. First thing is first - choosing your first crystal (or adding another staple to your collection).

Also - being that crystals are ancient specimens from deep within the earth and all, they can get fairly expensive. I've found some well-priced starter crystals for your kit - almost everything below comes in at under $25.

Are you ready for your crash course, crystal rookies? Let's go!

Amethyst

Amethyst is a powerful one. Amethyst is probably the most popular decorative stone for good reason - a medium or large cluster of Amethyst not only brings harmonious energy to your living room but it looks gorgeous! I like using polished Amethyst points during meditation or when I'm having trouble falling asleep. In Ancient Greece it was used to treat addiction - in modern times we can simply use it to remind us of our negative thought patterns.

This crystal is the one for you if:
You want to get far out or if you have anxiety. Amethyst has a powerful energy that calms while also inciting the imagination during meditation. It can soothe you if you're stuck in an anxious mindset but it can also serve as your launch pad if you want to get to higher planes of existence!

It's pretty. But what do I do with it?
Put a polished stone under your pillow to fall asleep easier and have more colorful dreams. Hold a polished point in your hand to aide in working through anxiety or repetitive thought patterns. Put decorative pieces in your home to lighten up the energy - put a large cluster on your coffee table or put a candle holder in your bathroom.

Selenite

As the crystal godmothers over at Crystal Muse say, Selenite is liquid light in your hands! This was the first crystal I ever purchased, after a meditation class. I was told to grab a crystal out of a large assortment and to meditate with it, tuning into it's energy. I was pretty immediately tuned into the gentle, dreamy vibes of Selenite - and at that point I was still a total meditation rookie, stuck in the anxiety hamster wheel of city living. That's beautiful and powerful Selenite for ya!

This crystal is the one for you if:
You want a multi-tasking crystal with a gentle, cleansing energy.

It's pretty. But what do I do with it?
Meditate with a crystal rod in each hand to tune in and get to that meditative space quicker. Put a selenite slab or wand above the entry to your home or in the window sill behind your bed. Selenite self cleanses and actually charges other crystals - cop a slab or charging station and put other crystals on it so they get the energy-boosting benefits!

Let there be light:

Rose Quartz

Ah, rose quartz. It's gorgeous and refreshing to look at - just having a pink piece of crystal around is enough to lift the spirits. Rose quartz has an ancient history tied to self-care and beauty.

This crystal is the one for you if:
You need help reminding yourself to love yourself and are looking for more loving energy in your life in general.

It's pretty. But what do I do with it?
This is a great one to wear! Wear rose quartz around your neck to open your heart chakra (or to look cute). Putting rose quartz in your home is a beautiful decorative touch that warms the space and brings in the energy of love. I have a large raw piece of rose quartz that I keep by my bedside and a few by the tub for luxurious baths. Get a rose quartz plate for your accessories or beauty products for a nice touch to your morning self-care routine.

Let the love in:

Shungite

Shungite has been touted as a miracle stone and a neutralizer.

This crystal is the one for you if:
You're looking for a serious detox or for a strong, protective stone. A lot has been said of Shungite - it's said to repel EMFs and free radicals. Found only in Russia, Shungite is often soaked in water to make elixirs that are said to not only purify the water, but purify the body.

It's pretty. But what do I do with it? Place a shungite cube by your computer or tape a small piece to the back of your cellphone if you're worried about electromagnetic frequencies. Place small pieces of shungite in water to purify it - or even bathe with pieces of shungite! Just always rinse your piece of shungite thoroughly before using it.

Serious Shungite specimens to add to your collection:

Carnelian

Carnelian is a fiery, colorful stone - perfect for harnessing your own inner fire (cheesy, but true). Feeling a little lost or purpose-less? Carnelian is here to unlock your inner creativity while boosting your confidence in your ideas. It's also been said Carnelian helps to balance the menstrual cycle and ease period pains - it's also just super grounding and gorgeous. Carnelian can be found in a bunch of (natural) colorful varieties, ranging from light orange to dark red. Pick your poison!

This crystal is the one for you if:
You're looking to shake things up, tap into your creative fire and purpose or to balance your reproductive system and menstrual cycle.

It's pretty. But what do I do with it?
Tap into your feminine energy by placing a polished stone on your sacral chakra. Looking to ignite creativity? Keep a small stone in your pocket and tap into it's energy when you are lacking confidence. Place a large piece on your desk in your workplace to keep the creativity flowing.
